Bank robber throws cash in street and yells ‘Merry Christmas,’ Colorado witness says
A robber in Colorado is accused of holding up a bank and taking cash on Monday, police say.
Then he walked out and started throwing cash in the street, a witness told KKTV.
“Merry Christmas,” the man yelled, witness Dion Pascale told the Colorado Springs TV station.
Officers rushed to the scene and found the robbery suspect, sporting a grayish-white beard, sitting at a nearby coffee shop, police said. He was arrested.
During their investigation, police learned that the robber went to the bank teller and threatened to use a weapon and left with an undetermined amount of money, according to a police report.
David Wayne Oliver, 65, and booked into jail, police said.
Oliver was in jail on $10,000 bond, and he’ll have his first court hearing the day after Christmas, The Associated Press reported.
