NM cops ask drug dealers to ‘improve community relations’ — by turning in competitors

Tucumcari police are asking drug dealers who are tired of their competition to “improve community relations” and turn in their competitors, the department said in a news release.

“I do realize we do not normally see eye to eye, but here at the Tucumcari Police Department, we are always striving to improve community relations -- That also includes YOU!”

Officers are asking dealers to provide police with their competitors’ names, where they reside, car they drive, phone number, what they sell, “store” hours and “fun facts” officers should know about their competition, the release said.

“This is completely legit and in no way a farce. Farce means fake... this is not fake,” the release noted. It had been shared more than 1,000 times on Facebook as of Thursday night and had a long string of comments.

“Where can I download this? I would love to print an frame it. Good job!” said Devin Gunther.

Police said the “service is 100 percent free of charge” and anyone with questions about the form is encouraged to call 575-461-2160.
