A boy was sexually assaulted in a bathroom while at bank with his mom, Texas cops say

Austin police have arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a 9-year-old boy in a Chase Bank bathroom earlier this year, KVUE reported.

The boy and his mother were at the Northeast Austin bank on Aug. 13 when he went to use the bathroom. He was washing his hands “when a man entered the restroom and closed the door not allowing victim the leave,” CBS Austin said.

Tony Franklin Woodworth, 29, reportedly blocked the door so the child couldn’t escape, authorities told multiple media outlets. Police say the boy told them he tried to escape by climbing through Woodworth’s legs, but he grabbed him, pulled down his pants and underwear and touched the boy’s private parts with his mouth.

Woodworth told the victim to touch his privates, but he refused. In return, Woodworth said to him, “If you don’t, I won’t let you get out,” CBS Austin reported.

Once freed from the bathroom, the victim told his mother what happened, and the bank released surveillance footage to police. A bank employee matched the victim’s description with the video, identifying Woodworth as the suspect, authorities said in a warrant obtained by KVUE.

Police located Woodworth at his residence on Nov. 25, KVUE reported, and where police say he admitting to sexually assaulting the boy, blaming his actions on his “uncontrollable sexual urges.”

He was arrested Thursday evening and charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child, Univision 62 Austin reported. Bond was set at $200,000.
