Deer smashes through door, locks self in bathroom in ‘home invasion,’ Oklahoma cops say

A young buck smashed through a door and threatening the lives of three residents during a “home invasion” caught on video, Oklahoma police say.

The deer broke a glass storm door of an Edmond, Oklahoma, home and dashed throughout the house, police told McClatchy news group. Then the six-point buck barricaded itself in a bedroom, police said.

When police officers arrived, the deer had “taken refuge” in a small closet and later locked itself in a bathroom, police spokeswoman Emily Ward said.

Animal welfare officers decided they needed to rope the deer by the antler to pull it outside, police said.

“Once outside, it was obvious the deer was in bad shape bleeding from numerous cuts and possible other injuries and was unable to stay on its feet,” Ward said.

The deer had to be euthanized, police said.
