A 32-year-old man from Ada, Okla., has been found guilty of manufacturing child pornography, child exploitation and engaging in human trafficking after he and a former live-in partner discussed trading an infant for drugs.

According to the Ada News, which cited a court affidavit, Facebook messages between James Hampton Smith and Carmita Mae O'Bryant, 23, spelled out a trade: O'Bryant's infant daughter for the drugs O'Bryant said she'd "do anything to get."

According to the messages, Smith asked O'Bryant "if she remembered what he wanted before — and that he wanted proof in a picture."

O'Bryant knew, and responded, "a pet," KFOR reported. She replied with nude photos of her 5-month-old, which provided the basis for authorities in Pottawatomie County to charge the pair with manufacturing child pornography. Pottawatomie County is fewer than 20 miles east of Oklahoma City.

"Very good do you have that?" Smith replied.

According to KFOR, upon police questioning, O'Bryant spelled out that "a pet" meant "a female infant child that he could keep for him to have sex with."

O'Bryant had already pleaded guilty, on April 5, 2017, to manufacturing child pornography, sexual abuse of a child under age 12 and engaging in human trafficking, according to a Facebook post from the Seminole, Okla., Police Department. She is serving a 25-year prison sentence.

According to Seminole Police, "O'Bryant's children were rescued and placed into DHS custody mere days before the sale was to happen."

The Ada News reported that O'Bryant also told police she and Smith previously lived together in Konawa, Okla., describing multiple incidents where the couple performed sexual acts on her then-toddler son. According to the affidavit, O'Bryant also told authorities "that while living with Smith, he made her have sex with two different dogs."

Smith will be sentenced Feb. 21 in Pottawatomie District Court. He still faces charges in two other counties for multiple counts of rape of a child, bestiality, child molestation and lewd acts, among others.
