At least 26 people have died after a gunman, identified as Devin Patrick Kelley, opened fire in the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas, about 30 miles southeast of San Antonio. At least 8 children are among the victims.
Fourteen-year-old Annabelle Renee Pomeroy, the pastor’s daughter, was killed in the shooting, her father said.

The pastor and his wife were not at services during the time of the shooting, they said.
The San Antonio News reported that Amanda Mosel’s 13-year-old goddaughter was also killed. Mosel wasn’t at the church at the time of the shooting, she said.
"There's maybe 50 of us," she said. "It's a small, tight-knit church."
Another person told KENS5 that the shooting was devastating to the congregation.
“Witness tells @KENS5 that about half the congregation was killed during the 11:00a service today at First Baptist Church in #SutherlandSprings - east of San Antonio,” Jason Whitely tweeted.
A pregnant woman, her three children, three in-laws, and niece were among the 26 people killed.
Crystal Holcombe, who was eight months pregnant, was pronounced dead Sunday, according to her cousin, Nick Uhlig, the Associated Press reports. Three of Crystal’s five children, Emily, Megan and Greg, died Sunday, accoring to The Washington Post.
"She doesn't even drink, smoke or nothing," Uhlig told told the Houston Chronicle. "She just takes care of kids; she raises goats and makes homemade cheese. That kind of thing, you know? They don't go out dancing or anything like that. They're real old-fashioned, down-to-earth."
Bryan and Karla’s son Marc Daniel Holcombe, 36, also died in the church Sunday along with his infant daughter, Noah Holcombe, the Washington Post reports.
“We just gathered to bury their grandfather on Thursday,” Uhlig said. “This is the only church here. We have Bible study, men’s Bible study, vacation Bible school.”
Another family in the church lost three members. Brooke Ward, 5, Emily Garza, 7, and their mother Joann Ward died on Sunday, family members told The Dallas Morning News.
There were also children injured in the shooting.
“6yo boy named Rylan was shot 4 times at the church in Sutherland Springs & is now in surgery, according to his uncle who spoke to CBS News,” CBS Correspondent David Begnaud tweeted.
Texas Gov. Greg Abbott said the dead ranged in age from 5 to 72. Twenty-three people died inside the church, two outside the building and one person after going to the hospital, said law enforcement officials.
It’s not yet clear how the suspected gunman died. He was found dead in his car after a high-speed chase.
