Arlington resident wins $1M top prize in this Texas Lottery scratch-ticket game

An Arlington resident claimed the first $1 million top prize in the scratch ticket game $1,000,000 Crossword on Monday, according to a Texas Lottery news release.

The winner, who chose to stay anonymous, bought the ticket at a QuickTrip gas station, at 2051 FM 663 in Midlothian, the release states.

There is a 1 in 3.41 chance of winning any prize in $1,000,000 Crossword, according to the back of the ticket. Top prize odds are 1 in about 2,500,000.

Ticket packs hold 25 tickets and cost $20, according to the Texas Lottery website.

The player gets 20 mystery letters and a crossword on each card. $1,000,000 Crossword is played by scratching off the mystery letters on the crossword, according to the ticket directions. Prizes are won for scratching off between two and 10 words.

Five top prizes remain in circulation in $1,000,000 Crossword, according to the Texas Lottery website. As of July 14, 265,803 total prizes have been claimed.

The Texas Lottery will end the game once all top prizes are claimed or for business reasons, its website states.
