Goodfellow Fund now accepting applications for $50 gift cards for Tarrant County kids

Applications are now available for the Goodfellow Fund, the Star-Telegram’s charity that provides new clothes to needy schoolchildren

Applications and the qualifications for assistance are available at goodfellowfundfw.com.

This holiday season the Goodfellow Fund will again provide a $50 gift card from Old Navy for shoes and clothing to every eligible child. The goal is to provide assistance to 16,000 schoolchildren in Tarrant County.

Some wrap the treasures and put them under trees so the kids have presents to open Christmas morning. Many others let the children wear their new clothes to school as soon as they’re purchased.

Qualifying interviews begin Nov. 7.

The charity began in 1912 by providing food and firewood to less fortunate families in Tarrant County.
