Her son facing surgey, mom asks Goodfellows for help giving kids a little more
Courtney is a single mom since July whose main focus this holiday season is the health of her oldest son, 12-year-old Braylon. She also has a 1-year-old, KaDarian.
Braylon has Noonan syndrome, a genetic disorder that prevents normal development in various parts of the body. He is scheduled to have surgery soon, she hopes.
“Braylon will be getting surgery on the 17th of December if I’m able to pay 10 to 20% up front. His SSI (supplemental security income) will not make a payment or give him Medicaid due to how the pay period income falls,” she said. “It’s really hard and frustrating that I will not have much to give my boys this Christmas.”
Goodfellows can help her, just as the Star-Telegram charity has been helping families like hers during the holidays for more than a hundred years. This year they are providing funding to buy clothing and shoes for her children. They are donating $50 gift cards to qualified families.
“I’m asking Goodfellows to help me give a little more to my kids this Christmas,” she said. “I would greatly appreciate any help you may offer to us.”
