Liliana wants shoes for her children for Christmas. Like many families, hers is struggling in a world where that word has become commonplace.

But she also wants more, something that requires more than a trip to the store — and something that only a world united can bring about.

“This year has been hard for my family — and I know that for many families also — because of the situation we are going through without work,” she said. “It would be great to have new shoes. My boy is 8 years old and my girl is 5.”

The Goodfellows Fund wants to help. The Star-Telegram charity has been helping families like hers during the holidays for more than a century.

This year the fund is providing funding for clothing and shoes for children. They are donating $50 gift cards to qualified families.

As for that other thing she wants? She said she wants a “return to normal, for the world to heal.”
