No stove or refrigerator at home, mother of three asks Goodfellows for help
To say life has been hard lately on Ada and her family would be an understatement.
She and her three young children — one of which has attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder and another with major depressive disorder — lost their rental residence after six years of living there. Before that, the water and electricity was disconnected while they were still living there.
“My father put up all his savings to find us a house for us all to share,” she said. “We currently have no stove or refrigerator, so Christmas gifts look less and less a possibility.”
Not with the Goodfellow Fund to assist. The Star-Telegram charity has been helping families for over a century.
This year the fund is providing $50 gift cards that can be used to purchase clothing and/or shoes for children.
“Anything will help and anything will bring my kids a smile on Christmas,” she said.
Be a Goodfellow
Since 1912, the Star-Telegram’s Goodfellow Fund has provided help and assistance for Tarrant County schoolchildren. This season they have a goal of assisting 12,000 youths.
