Single dad also caring for elderly mom needs help from Goodfellows
You’ll not find Timothy complaining about his life. In fact, he describes himself as having won the lottery when he was able to adopt his son Michael in 2006.
Still, Timothy, a single dad in his early 60s with a disability, could use a little help to make life better. After all, love, even with all its power, won’t put clothes or shoes on a child.
Along with caring for his son, who is autistic, Timothy takes care of his mother, who is in her 80s, has multiple health problems and suffers from dementia.
“I worry constantly about what the future holds for Michael as I am not a spring chicken, but I pray every day that he has a long, beautiful and happy life,” Timothy said. “Unfortunately, I struggle with life, being on a limited income and trying to provide everything that he needs and see to my mom’s needs.”
The Goodfellow Fund can help Timothy. The Star-Telegram charity has been specializing in assisting families for over a century.
This year the fund is providing $50 gift cards that can be used to purchase clothing and/or shoes for children just like Michael.
“If there is anything you can do to help me make Michael’s life a happier experience I would be very much indebted to you,” he said.
