Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo tickets selling at ‘unprecedented’ pace

Planning on going to the rodeo next year?

If so, you might want to get your tickets soon.

Already, tickets have sold out for 10 of the 25 rodeo performances for the 2020 Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo in Dickies Arena.

“Demand has been unprecedented,” said Matt Brockman, a spokesman for the Stock Show and Rodeo. “Tickets are going fast.”

Generally at this time of year, tickets might be sold out for between five and seven rodeos, but not 10, he said.

Tickets are the same price as last year — $30 per show.

And parking has gone up from $12 to $15, but parkers will for the first time be able to use credit cards to pay for that.

In January, attendees will experience the rodeo in Dickies Arena, which opened in October and features everything from elaborate terrazzo tile work resembling large lassos to more than a dozen premium suites.

Visitors will have access to 12 concession stands and three concession bars. And officials promise that the arena provides “incredible sight lines from every seat ... and ample standing room with stunning end-zone views,” Stock Show President and General Manager Brad Barnes has said.

Fort Worth’s new 14,000-seat Dickies Arena was built for the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, but it’s more than an arena. It is a unique place in the Cultural District for concerts, graduations and sports in Texas. Explore this 3D photo-realistic recreation of a model of the arena.

“The look down on the arena floor and overall vibe won’t change,” Brockman said. “We are talking about the Stock Show Rodeo in Texas. Those traditions, that look and feel and vibe that people have grown to love isn’t going away.

“But the vividness of the rodeo action will come alive before your eyes,” he said. “It will be a unique experience.”

The Dickies arena, which opened in late October in the Cultural District, offers 9,300 seats for each rodeo, compared with the 5,700 seats that were available at the Will Rogers Coliseum.

“We are ecstatic about this,” Brockman said. “This is Fort Worth’s largest and oldest public event. It’s what defines Fort Worth.

“Going into a beautiful facility with all the amenities and offerings it has, being able to enjoy a rodeo performance is just out of this world.”

Already, some rodeo tickets are being sold on sites such as Stubhub for more than $100.

Organizers encourage people to buy tickets from the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo’s website or in person.

“With any event like this, there are scalpers out there,” Brockman said. “We are the official source for rodeo tickets. You are going to get the best price and best options if you come to us. Don’t fall for the scalpers.”

The Stock Show and Rodeo runs from Jan. 17-Feb. 8.
