Springtown man hit, killed by truck on highway

A man walking to get help after his van broke down was struck and killed Tuesday afternoon by a pickup on the westbound service road in the 2800 block of Northwest Loop 820 , police said.

The victim was identified as David Rajski, 51, of Springtown on the Tarrant County medical examiner’s website Wednesday. He died at 7:59 p.m. Tuesday at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth.

The pickup driver stopped after the accident, police Sgt. Steve Enright said Wednesday in an email. No one has been arrested, and the investigation continued. The incident occurred shortly after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Speed has been listed as a contributing factor, police said.

No other major injuries were reported.
