Fort Worth man, last heard from July 30, still missing, family says
A 60-year-old Fort Worth man remains missing, more than a week after he disappeared from a home he was renovating in south Fort Worth, police and his family said.
Mike Randle, a construction contractor with no known health problems, was last heard from the night of July 30, a Saturday. He was staying overnight at a home on Wyatt Court, east of Interstate 35, because of recent break-ins, police said.
The next day, Randle’s wife called him about noon, when they usually get ready to leave for an afternoon church service, said their son, Christopher Randle.
Mike Randle didn’t answer, so about an hour later, Christopher Randle and his mother went to the home on Wyatt Court.
They found the back door unlocked and groceries he had bought the day before in the refrigerator.
The only things missing, Christopher Randle said, were his father’s 2003 Honda CR-V and a few tools.
“There wasn’t anything really abnormal,” Christopher Randle said. “Nothing out of place. No broken windows. No signs of a struggle.”
The detective working Randle’s case had no leads by Tuesday.
“There is no evidence of foul play at this time,” said Officer Tamara Pena, a police spokeswoman.
Christopher Randle said he’s working with a phone company to gather his father’s cell phone data. He hopes to narrow down an area where his father might have made a call.
Other than that, Randle’s family is spreading the word about his disappearance on social media and frequently checking hospitals and jails.
“We’re kind of spent,” Christopher Randle said. “What else can we do?”
