The 23-year-old son of an Everman home daycare operator is accused of molesting a girl there for two years, an Everman detective wrote in an arrest warrant affidavit.

Chance William Moore was arrested July 26 and charged last week with sexual abuse of a child and indecency/fondling, according to Tarrant County criminal court records.

The girl, now 11, told investigators July 25 that Moore had sexually abused her since she was 9. Detectives believe two other children may have been molested, too, according to the affidavit obtained by the Star-Telegram on Thursday.

Moore’s mother was issued a permit in 2008 to provide child care in her home for up to three children at a time, but has been instructed to stop operating during an investigation, said Marissa Gonzales, spokeswoman for the state Department of Family and Protective Services.

To get a child-care permit, the mother “and everyone over the age of 14 who lives in the home would have to have a clean background check,” Gonzales said in an email.

An investigation by Child Care Licensing could take up to 30 days, Gonzales said.

The detective’s affidavit gave this account:

On July 24, Everman police were notified by the girl’s parents that she had told them that she had been molested at her day care in the 700 block of Vaughn Avenue.

The girl told investigators that Moore committed sexual acts on her. The abuse stopped when she avoided being alone with him.

Moore was accused in 2008 of sexually assaulting a 3-year-old boy, the affidavit stated. Information on that case was unavailable Thursday.

Moore remained in the Tarrant County Jail on Thursday with bail set at $50,000.
