North Texans will need to keep those jackets handy for a few more hours, but warm weather is coming.

Those in the DFW area awoke to wind chill temperatures in the teens; and patches of drizzle and mist will continue this morning.

Cloudy and cold temperatures will stay around for most of Thursday, forecasters say. The high will only reach 40 degrees.

But south winds and warm temperatures are headed for North Texas. It will be sunny and cool on Friday with daytime temperatures in the lower 60s. The spring-like weather continues Saturday and Sunday.

“We’re going to have a stretch of nice weather especially for February,” said meteorologist Matt Stalley at the National Weather Service office in Fort Worth.

The high temperatures on Saturday and Sunday will be in the upper 70s with mostly clear skies.

Those warm days will continue into early next week.

Unfortunately, there are no rain chances for the next several days in North Texas.
