Fort Worth firefighters to conduct smoke detector drive after fatal fire
The Fire Department will conduct a smoke detector drive in response to a fatal fire early Friday on Finley Street.
The department, in partnership with Fort Worth Professional Fire Fighters Association Local 440 and the city’s citizen fire academy, will visit homes in the Riverside neighborhood east of downtown Monday morning.
Participants will visit homes to test alarms, replace batteries if needed and install new alarms.
There were no smoke detectors in the house in the 2800 block of Finley Street where an elderly man and his dog died Friday.
