Chances are good that any outdoor plans for Super Bowl weekend in North Texas should include umbrellas and rain gear.

While Friday featured sunny skies, forecasters call for a 70 to 90 percent chance of rain Saturday and a 50 percent chance Sunday.

“We maintain that the better rain chances will be around noon on Saturday,” said meteorologist Lamont Bain at the National Weather Service office in Fort Worth. “And the rain chances will be good for the rest of the day on Saturday.”

Rainfall in Tarrant County could total an inch Saturday, he said.

This year, Dallas/Fort Worth Airport has recorded 3.08 inches of rain — 1.11 inches above normal for the year.

No severe weather is expected this weekend.

Low temperatures Saturday morning should be in the low 40s, climbing to 50 in the afternoon.

On Sunday, the morning low should be 47, with a high of 52.

Any rain on Sunday should fall in the morning, Bain said. As the rains leave, the temperature will drop.

By Monday morning, residents will awake to temperatures in the upper 20s. The highs should be in the mid-40s.
