Ex-federal prison worker pleads guilty to sex abuse in Fort Worth
A former Bureau of Prisons worker has pleaded guilty to the sexual abuse of an inmate at the Carswell Federal Medical Center.
Yvonne Marrufo, 41, of El Plaso, pleaded guilty Wednesday to one count of sexual abuse with a ward.
Marrufo, who is free on bond, will be sentenced Oct. 27 by U.S. District Judge Terry Means. The maximum sentence is 15 years in federal prison and a $250,000 fine.
Marrufo was a cook supervisor at the Fort Worth prison. According to federal prosecutors, Marrufo engaged in sex acts with an inmate that she supervised beginning in February 2015.
