Fire damages southwest Fort Worth mansion

Fort Worth fire officials are investigating the cause of a fire that heavily damaged a 10,600-square-foot home in southwest Fort Worth early Saturday.

No one was injured in the fire. A dog was rescued, but other pets were reported missing, said fire department spokesman Kyle Falkner.

The fire was reported around midnight. The home, in the 6500 block of Haig Point Court, was valued at slightly over $2 million on the Tarrant County tax rolls. The realty service Zillow estimated its value at $2.55 million.

Fort Worth firefighters use an aerial ladder to battle a stubborn fire in a large home at 6509 Haig Point Court early Saturday am.
