Storms in forecast for North Texas through Thursday

Instability and moisture will keep rain chances in the forecast all the way into Thursday, a National Weather Service meteorologist said Sunday.

On Tuesday, North Texans have a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms.

“Our best chance of rain will be Wednesday morning,” NWS meteorologist Lamont Bain said Sunday. “We’re looking at 70 percent during morning commute.”

Forecasters are calling for a 40 percent chance of rain Thursday, and none Friday or Saturday.

Daytime temperatures for the week will be in the upper 70s to mid-80s.

Morning temperatures for North Texans will be in the mid- to upper-60s for most of the week.

Sheets of rain fell throughout Tarrant County on Sunday morning. From midnight to 7 a.m., rainfall totals ranged from 0.56 inches at Alliance Airport in north Fort Worth to 0.31 inches of rain at the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport, according to the NWS in Fort Worth. Denton reported 0.45 inches.
