Storms exit Tarrant County, allowing Dean & DeLuca to tee off
After thunderstorms delayed the start of the Dean & DeLuca Invitational golf tournament at Colonial Country Club by more than five hours, sunny skies returned Friday afternoon allowing the second round to get under way.
For the first start of the Memorial Day weekend, the weather will be good for getting outdoors.
“It seems like we’re done” with the rain, said National Weather Service meteorologist Juan Hernandez. “There’s a slight chance of storms Saturday and into Sunday. Then it looks pretty unsettled next week.”
To the south and southwest of Fort Worth, more than 3 inches of rain could cause flash flood warnings Friday morning in Erath and Comanche counties. More than 3 inches of rain were also reported in Waco and Hearne in Central Texas.

Some forecast models are suggesting a weather system could stall next week and bring flood chances to much of Texas, said National Weather Service meteorologist Steve Fano.
“It really does look like a wet pattern next week,” Fano said. “That weather system pretty much just meanders around and never really punches through. Some of the models suggest it will stall out over Mexico or West Texas late next week. If it stalls out, it could actually produce some flooding problems the first weekend of June.”
