Ex-Mansfield teacher sentenced for making child pornography at school

A former special needs instructor in the Mansfield school district was sentenced to 60 years in federal prison on Tuesday for producing child pornography, using a school restroom at least twice to record sex acts with boys.

Kelly Dan Williams, Jr., 62, of Mansfield pleaded guilty in January to two counts of sexual exploitation of children.

Williams was sentenced Tuesday by U.S. District Judge Terry Means to 360 months on each federal count, to run consecutively.

Williams was arrested in June 2015 after an individual at Mary Orr Intermediate School saw him perform a sex act on an 11-year-old boy in a school restroom stall, federal agents said.

Initially, Williams was charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child, a state charge, according to Tarrant County criminal court records.

During the investigation by Mansfield school district police, a search was conducted at Williams’ home, where electronic storage devices including an SD memory card were seized.

A forensic examination revealed that a video on the SD card showed Williams performing a sex act on a boy in what appears to be a school restroom stall, federal agents said. The boy appeared to be younger than 12, authorities said.

Further forensic analysis indicated that the video was created on or about Feb. 3, 2010, authorities said in a news release.

Williams later admitted to federal agents that he used a boy to engage in sexual acts on Jan. 13, 2010, and Feb. 3, 2010, and recorded the acts, according to federal court documents.
