Fort Worth divers pull man’s body from pickup in Mosier Lake
Divers with the Fort Worth Fire Department pulled a man’s body from a pickup submerged in water off East Loop 820 and Trinity Boulevard on Tuesday night.
The man was pronounced dead at 7:50 p.m. by first responders.
Teenage boys reported seeing the truck in Mosier Lake. Firefighter Kyle Clay said a 911 call came in at 5:29 p.m. that a truck was submerged under the Loop 820 bridge.
First responders arrived at 5:38 p.m. and found a teenage boy standing on the dark-colored four-door pickup.
Clay said the teen and his friends spotted the truck after trying to retrieve a tire. One boy swam to the truck to try to rescue the man, he said.
If the truck turns out to be missing a tire, that could point to an accident that sent the pickup off the freeway and into the water, said Sgt. Daniel Segura, a Fort Worth police spokesman. But investigators were not sure what happened, and the area was being treated as a crime scene.
Segura said anyone who hasn’t heard from a loved one in the past few days should contact police.
The truck appeared to have been in the water for a day or so, he said.
