Pedestrian hit on NW Loop 820 in Fort Worth, found hours later by driver
An SUV driver who fatally struck a pedestrian on the Jim Wright Freeway early Friday morning called police about seven hours later after she drove back to the area and found the man’s body, police said.
The woman told police that she was driving westbound in a 2004 Saturn SUV about 1:30 a.m. on Northwest Loop 820 near Quebec Street when she “hit something,” Sgt. Marc Povero, a police spokesman, said in an email.
“She did not see what it was because it was dark,” Povero said.
She returned to the area in the daylight and called police when she found the man’s body about 8:15 a.m., Povero said.
The man had not been identified by Friday evening.
Povero said the driver is not under investigation.
