Early voting begins Monday in local city, school board elections
The polls open Monday for voters across Tarrant County to cast ballots in local elections for city and town councils, school boards, library and water districts, and city charter elections.
In Fort Worth, the City Council is asking for 11 amendment changes to the 1924 city charter, which include seven propositions that would make the charter current with state law. The other four involve pay, term lengths and size of the council.
Among the many races: Arlington has contested council and school board seats, Keller has a mayoral recall election, Dalworthington Gardens and Hurst have contested mayoral races, and Azle and Kennedale have a slew of propositions.
Applications for a ballot by mail may be downloaded at the elections website and must be submitted by Tuesday, April 26.
The Tarrant County elections administrator has released the following early voting sites and times:
Early voting for the May 7 local elections starts Monday and runs through May 3: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday; 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturday; 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Sunday; and 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, May 2-3.
