Authorities continued their search Sunday for suspects who kidnapped 17-year-old Keidra Kirby Saturday evening in Glenn Heights. She was found safe in Dallas Sunday.

A kidnapped Glenn Heights teen who was taken Saturday evening as she walked with friends was found safe in Dallas, Glenn Heights police said Sunday.

No one has been arrested in the kidnapping of Keidra Kirby, 17, Glenn Heights police said. The town is in Dallas and Ellis counties, just south of Dallas on Interstate 35E.

“It is still an ongoing investigation,” Glenn Heights police Sergeant David Jackson said Sunday.

Kirby was found by police in the 3800 block of Gannon Lane in Dallas just after 8 a.m. Sunday.

Kirby’s grandmother told a dispatcher in Desoto that the girl called and told her where she was. Texas Rangers and detectives went to the area and found her.

The teenager was taken back to the Glenn Heights Police Department for an interview with detectives.

Glenn Heights police received the initial call about 7 p.m. Saturday from a father stating that his daughter had been kidnapped by men in a white van with tinted windows, dual rear doors and an equipment rack on top.

Two men wearing masks and all black clothing jumped out of the van, grabbed Kirby and put her in the van as she walked with friends Saturday evening, they said.

The abduction took place at the 400 block of Stargazer Drive in Glenn Heights.

An Amber Alert was issued for the teen just after the abduction was confirmed by police.

The Glenn Heights criminal investigation division teamed with the Texas Rangers, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and the FBI in the case.
