Police: Man put his hands under girl’s clothing in Weatherford library
A middle school student was inappropriately touched by a man while she was in the Weatherford Public Library, Weatherford police said Tuesday.
Police continued Tuesday to search for the suspect.
The incident was reported about 6 p.m. Monday. The girl’s mother called Weatherford police after her daughter told her that an unknown man allegedly assaulted her in the teen section of the library at 1014 Charles St.
The girl told Weatherford police that a man approached her claiming to be a college student studying skin tones. At some point, the suspect put his hands under her clothing.
The incident occurred about 4:30 p.m.
The girl told authorities that she did not know the suspect and she had not seen him previously at the library.
Weatherford police interviewed the library staff, but didn’t get any leads on the suspect.
Based on a description by the girl, the suspect is a white man about 5 feet tall and heavyset with short, light brown hair. He was wearing pants and a T-shirt, and carrying a white plastic library bag.
