Water main breaks in Fort Worth neighborhood
A 24-inch water main ruptured Saturday night east of TCU, sending water cascading down streets but causing no reports of serious property damage, Fort Worth Water Department officials said.
The cast iron pipe laid in March 1947 was reported as broken by a resident at about 7:30 p.m. As of 10 p.m., a city crew was bulldozing gravel and dirt that was blown up by the high-pressure break. New material will be brought in to replace it.
