Sunny skies, half-price tickets make for busy day at Fort Worth Zoo

Sunny skies greeted thousands of visitors at the Fort Worth Zoo in what has become of rite of spring — half-price Wednesday.

Traffic was thick along University Drive and Forest Park Boulevard as parents, children in tow, manevered their way into parking lots, thanks to help from Fort Worth police.

Though a little windy at times, the weather was near perfect with temperatures in the mid-70s.
