Fort Worth couple’s spat over Valentine’s gift leads to citations

Perhaps he should have gone to Jared.

One Fort Worth man’s underwhelming Valentine’s gift to his wife resulted in a visit from police Sunday afternoon.

An officer responded about 12:30 p.m. to a domestic disturbance call at 4200 Bridgeview Drive, an apartment complex off South Hulen Street

A 45-year-old man there told the officer that he and his wife “began arguing over buying a house and his not having done enough for Valentine’s Day,” according to a police incident report.

The argument grew so heated that the man threw a Valentine’s card at his 26-year-old wife, striking her in the eye.

The wife responded by shoving her husband.

“She had been offended by having the card thrown in her face,” the report stated.

Neither lover was injured, but both were cited for assault by offensive contact or threat.
