Fort Worth man brought condoms to Cleburne park for sex with teen, police say

The 24-year-old Fort Worth man who showed up early Wednesday at a Cleburne park thinking he was going to have sex with a 14-year-old girl brought along condoms just as he said he would, according to an arrest warrant affidavit obtained Thursday.

John Rouzbeh Wenzel, 24, started exchanging social media messages with an undercover Cleburne police officer on Monday. He was in custody by 3:30 a.m. Wednesday.

The officer first posted an ad on a social media site asking, “Is it wrong my last bf was 22? I’m 14.”

Wenzel replied, “Not at all. I’m 23 :) want to try me?” the affidavit states.

He then “engaged in a series of chat exchanges with the officer,” including “sexually explicit chats.” Wenzel wrote things such as “Well … we can have sex :)” and “Send me a nude,” according to the affidavit.

At one point, Wenzel asked if the girl wanted to have sex without a condom. “The officer expressed concern over being only 14 and becoming pregnant,” the affidavit states.

Wenzel reassured her that he would wear a condom and told her what brand he used.

On Tuesday, he agreed to meet at a Cleburne park after he got off work about 1 a.m., the affidavit states.

Wenzel was arrested at 3:25 a.m. with condoms and his phone with the text messages.

Wenzel was booked into Johnson County Jail on Wednesday night with bail set at $100,000. He faces a charge of online solicitation of a minor, a third-degree felony.

On Thursday night, he was not listed on the jail log, but it could not be learned whether he had been released on bail.
