A 24-year-old Fort Worth man was arrested early Wednesday after he drove to Cleburne intending to have sex with an underage girl who turned out to be an undercover officer, Cleburne police reported.

John Rouzbeh Wenzel, 24, was arrested at 3:22 a.m., Detective Kelly Summey said in a news release.

“Wenzel had been texting an officer [who was] working undercover online as a 14-year-old female,” Summey said. He was arrested at a location he and the officer had “agreed upon” for sex.

Wenzel was in the Johnson County jail Wednesday night with bail set at $100,000. He faces a charge of a online solicitation of a minor, a third-degree felony.

Summey said she had no additional information Wednesday evening, including how long the online exchange had gone on. — Monica S. Nagy
