A man was fatally shot Tuesday afternoon in the 4600 block of Birchbend Lane, MedStar spokesman Matt Zavadsky said.

Fort Worth police incident reports show a 911 call was made at 3:48 p.m. The caller reported that someone had been shot and was “bleeding badly.”

Neighbors said they could see the man lying in the street before a white crime scene van and police car blocked it. Crime-scene tape blocked off the area.

In 2008, a double murder and suicide occurred at the house next door when a man fatally shot his stepdaughter and wife before killing himself, the Keller Citizen reported.

Witnesses told police that possible suspects left the area at the time of the shooting, said officer Tamara Pena, a Fort Worth police spokeswoman.

No one was in custody at 7 p.m.

It was the second fatal shooting detectives were investigating Tuesday. A teenager was killed in the morning during an apparent home invasion in the 4000 block of Miami Springs Drive.
