One man reported dead in a Tuesday morning shooting on Miami Springs Drive in south Fort Worth, police said.

A teen suspect was killed Tuesday morning during a home invasion in a residential neighborhood in south Fort Worth, police said.

Kevin Brown, 16, of Fort Worth, was found dead on a driveway a few houses away from where the shooting apparently occurred, according to police reports and the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.

Brown was a former student at Everman High School, said Nikita Russell, a school district spokeswoman.

The high school was locked down for about 30 minutes Tuesday morning because of a “nearby situation,” Russell said. The home that was invaded is not near the school.

Police continued searching for a second suspect Tuesday.

The shooting was reported shortly after 8:30 a.m. in the 4000 block of Miami Springs Drive.

According to reports, a resident reported firing at two people who kicked in the door to a home on Miami Springs Drive. Brown was one of the two men who kicked in the door, according to police reports.

Police did not release any other details Tuesday.
