Man found dead in Fort Worth back yard; woman arrested
A woman is facing a murder charge after a man was found dead in his back yard Saturday, Fort Worth police said.
Officials with the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office identified the victim as Eric Manning, 26, who died from a gunshot wound to the chest at 11 a.m. Saturday.
Manning’s body was in the yard of his home in the 5700 block of Whittlesley Road, where his death was ruled a homicide, according to the medical examiner.
Initially, police responded to the shooting and believed the woman had accidentally shot Manning, said officer Tamara Pena, a Fort Worth police spokeswoman.
Amelia Arroyo, 24, of Fort Worth was in the Mansfield Jail on Sunday, facing a murder charge, according to jail records. Her bail was set at $500,000.
Police did not provide any details on the shooting or the relationship between Arroyo and Manning on Sunday.
