The adult son of an elderly couple called 911 Sunday afternoon to report that his parents were dead at their home, police said.

The son was in custody Monday morning accused of killing his parents.

Officials with the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office identified the victims as Marion Scott, 75, and his wife, Linda, 70.

Police said the Scotts suffered multiple stab wounds.

Stephen L. Scott, 40, of Dallas was arrested Sunday afternoon.

“The preliminary investigation indicates the suspect called 911 to report that his parents were deceased. Investigators recovered what they believe to be the murder weapon,” Officer Orlando Hinojosa said in a news release Monday.

Police got the 911 call reporting a domestic disturbance at 2:36 p.m. Sunday.

Police officers arrived to find the bodies in a home in the 1300 block of Lynhurst Street where the victims lived, Hinojosa said. There was no sign of forced entry.

Stephen Scott remained in the Denton City Jail on Monday where he faces capital murder charges.
