One killed in overnight wreck on Loop 820 in Lake Worth

One person died early Monday morning in a one-vehicle wreck and fire on Loop 820 in Lake Worth.

The driver, who was the only person in the car, was declared dead at the scene at 3:44 a.m., said Matt Zavadsky, a MedStar spokesman.

The wreck occurred in the westbound lane of Loop 820, near the Azle Avenue overpass. Traffic remained heavy in that area at 7 a.m.

The gender and name of the victim was not yet available, Zavadsky said.
