Two killed in Fort Worth wrecks
Two people were killed Monday morning in separate wrecks in Fort Worth, officials said.
One man was killed just before 6 a.m. in a crash in north Fort Worth on Interstate 35W near Basswood Boulevard, authorities said. The wreck involved a car and a tractor-trailer, authorities said. Two other people were treated at the scene.
Authorities identified the victim as 53-year-old Douglas Cusson who was pronounced dead at the scene. Police closed the southbound lanes near Basswood for more than four hours as authorities investigated the crash.
Hours earlier, at about 12:30 a.m., a motorist was killed in a single-vehicle wreck at John T. White and Randol Mill roads in east Fort Worth, authorities said. A vehicle crashed into a utility pole in that wreck, authorities said.
The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office identified the victim as Carlton Plummer, 29 who died at the scene. His hometown was not listed on the medical examiner’s website, but other documents indicated Plummer was from Fort Worth.
