Fort Worth teen shot while walking through his neighborhood
A teenager suffered a serious but not life-threatening gunshot wound late Wednesday while he was walking through his north Fort Worth neighborhood, police said.
Officers were summoned to a residence at 6701 Seth Barwise St. about 11 p.m. after the 18-year-old victim arrived at the home wounded.
The victim, who lives on nearby Marvin Brown Street, was walking across the intersection of Marvin Brown and Santa Gertrudis streets when he heard the loud muffler of a vehicle approaching him from behind, police said.
“Something was yelled at the victim and one gunshot was heard,” said Sgt. Steven Enright, a police spokesman. “The suspect vehicle was a dark-colored car.”
The victim walked to the home on Seth Barwise and was taken by ambulance to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth, police said. Investigators are looking for the suspect.
