Fort Worth police say this man robbed and shot another man last Sunday.

Police are searching for a man accused of attempting to rob two men at gunpoint and shooting one of them in the leg.

The incident happened at 10:14 a.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of East Butler Street.

Police said in a press release Tuesday that the suspect, a black man between 5 feet 10 inches and 6 feet tall, approached the two victims as they were trying to pull a truck out of the mud. The suspect, police said, pulled out a semi-automatic handgun and demanded their cash.

As one of the victims began to hand over his wallet, he remembered that his immigration documents were in it, so he refused. The suspect and the victim struggled over the wallet, before the suspect shot the victim, police said.

The suspect demanded cash from the other man before fleeing on foot. The injured victim was taken to the hospital.

Later the same day, around 3:30 p.m., the victim who wasn’t injured saw the suspect walking east on East Seminary and I-35W, police said. The suspect ran when he noticed the victim calling police.
