A 31-year-old man died Tuesday night after he attempted to switch lanes at a “high rate of speed” and lost control of his motorcycle, Fort Worth police spokeswoman Tamara Pena said.

Sergio Martinez was pronounced dead on the scene at 11:40 p.m. due to multiple blunt force injuries, according to the Tarrant County medical examiner’s office.

The accident occurred in the 3000 block of East Loop 820 when the Arlington man hit a vehicle after trying to switch lanes, lost control of his motorcycle and hit the concrete center median, Pena said.

He hit the pavement afterward while his bike traveled across several lanes of traffic, she said. Monica S. Nagy
