Burleson great-grandmother accidentally runs over toddler, boy critical
A 2-year-old boy is in critical condition Monday night after his great-grandmother accidentally backed her vehicle over him, according to officials.
The boy was on the front porch of his house when his 61-year-old great-grandmother attempted to back her car up and turn around, Burleson city spokeswoman Sally Ellertson wrote in an email.
She didn’t realize the boy was no longer on the porch when he was backed over, Ellertson wrote.
Police were called to the home at 5:44 p.m. in the 700 block of Wicker Hill Road, she said.
The boy was flown in critical condition to Cook Children’s Medical Center via CareFlite, MedStar spokesman Matt Zavadsky said.
