Fort Worth firefighter burned battling two blazes
A firefighter was hospitalized with minor burns Tuesday after he fought two storage shed fires on the city’s east side, a fire department spokesman said.
Firefighters responded to a report of an storage shed fire in the 6700 block of Beaty Street shortly after 5 p.m. The first unit on scene found a fully involved fire, Lt. Kyle Falkner said.
As firefighters were putting out that fire, they spotted fire coming from a shed in an adjacent yard, he said.
The firefighter was burned while trying to extinguish both fires, Falkner said.
MedStar transported him to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, a MedStar spokesman said.
Fire investigators were still working to determine the cause of the fires late Tuesday.
