Slain officer’s family gets memorabilia back after 35 years
It is never too late to make a difference or solve a case. Just ask Fort Worth police Sgt. Brent Halford.
Halford recently helped solve a cold case dealing with a missing box that had belonged to Fort Worth Officer Jimmie Chadwell, who was killed on duty in 1978.
A box of Chadwell family memorabilia disappeared about that time.
Last month, Halford got a tip that someone on eBay was offering “hundreds of photos” of Chadwell. After some investigation, he learned that the photos were among the contents of the missing box. Last weekend, the contents were returned to the family.
Officer Chadwell was among those honored Wednesday at the annual Fort Worth Peace Officers Memorial Service. Story at WFAA.com
