Teen shot by relative during dispute in Fort Worth
A 17-year-old was shot in the leg early Sunday when he attacked his uncle during a dispute over a vehicle, police said.
The teen, who has not been identified, was taken to a local hospital for treatment of a non-life- threatening wound, police said.
The uncle is not being charged at this time, said police Sgt. Steve Enright in a Sunday email.
Officers were dispatched to the shooting call shortly before 4 a.m. Sunday in the 5100 block of Skymeadow Drive.
The teen had arrived at his aunt and uncle’s home and tried to retrieve his vehicle, Enright said.
“The aunt and uncle refuse to give him the vehicle,” Enright said. “The teen began damaging the aunt and uncle’s vehicle, and then attacked the uncle.”
During the assault, the uncle shot the teen, police said.
