A fire on Monday morning caused heavy damage to an apartment complex in the 1400 block of Weiler Boulevard in Fort Worth, fire officials said.

A fire raced through an apartment complex early Monday, displacing 17 residents, officials said.

No residents or firefighters were injured in the blaze in the 1400 block of Weiler Boulevard near Brentwood Stair Road in east Fort Worth.

Firefighters responded about 3 a.m. Monday.

“The apartments were well involved in flames when firefighters arrived,” said Lt. Gregg Russell on Monday.

Firefighters knocked down the flames in about 15 minutes, but they remained on the scene for several hours.

At least four apartments were damaged by the fire, Russell said.

Public records identified the complex as the Vistana Apartments, but a phone number to the business indicated that the number had been disconnected.

The cause of the fire was under investigation.
