A Fort Worth high school student was arrested for assaulting a school security officer at Arlington Heights High School.

The 15-year-old female, who was not identified, was taken into custody Tuesday and will be charged with assault of a public servant, a third degree felony, Fort Worth police Cpl. Tracey Knight said Wednesday.

The incident stemmed from a fight Tuesday at Arlington Heights between the girl and a 17-year-old female. While one officer was trying to control the 17-year-old, another officer was assaulted by the 15-year-old, Knight said.

The officer deployed her stun gun but it did not make contact with anyone.

The student has been suspended, Fort Worth school district spokesman Clint Bond said.
