We’ll all be cooler by Saturday, forecasters predict

Outdoor partiers will get no relief on Labor Day, but keep hope alive: A cold front is headed our way.

Daytime temperatures will be in the upper 90s Monday and Tuesday, but change is coming after that as the front is forecast to arrive Wednesday.

“It’s the first big one of this season,” said Dennis Cain, a meteorologist at the National Weather Service office in Fort Worth. “It should be here by the afternoon and there’s some rain associated with it.”

He also said temperatures should drop to 10-15 degrees below normal after the front comes through.

Temperatures should be in the low 90s Wednesday, with a 50 percent chance of rain. The chances for rain and 90-degree temperatures continue Thursday, but by Friday highs should be in the 80s.

And for the heat-averse, the best part: Morning temperatures after the front arrives should be in the low 70s for most North Texans.
